Turtle Ant

Cephalotes rohweri - the Turtle Ant, found in southern states and part of Mexico. This little ant uses its oddly shaped head to block the entrance of their nest to prevent intruders from entering. This project spanned utilized many different softwares, from 3D Modeling, Digital Rending, Scene Modeling, and digital touchups. To model this little guy from the ground up took extensive research, and taking the time to familiarize myself with the complex anatomy found in many insect species. The end state is a high quality render that accompanies a 3D printed diorama that showcases these ants in their natural habitat.
